New wave rock group The Go-Go’s have unveiled a string of U.S. tour dates slated to run through June and July.
The summer stretch will bring the prolific band to ten markets on both coasts, including Las Vegas, San Diego, Westbury, Mashantucket and Asbury Park. Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre will have the Go-Go’s on its marquee for back-to-back nights, making it the only tour stop to host multiple shows.
The upcoming run not only marks the group’s first U.S. tour in two years, but comes in conjunction with a new documentary that follows their four-decade career. The Alison Ellwood-directed project premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this month and will be available to a wider audience when it airs on Showtime later this summer.
Band members Belinda Carlile, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, Kathy Valentine and Jane Wiedlin praised the documentary, aptly titled The Go-Go’s. However, they alluded that the band’s long history was not fully covered in one film, with Schock telling Deadline they “should do a part two.”
