Live Nation and punk venue Chain Reaction are bringing back the Chain Fest to Southern California this spring.

The single-day event, set to take place on May 23 at FivePoint Amphitheater, will feature a headlining set from the punk-rock group Jimmy Eat World. This is the festival’s first event since it went on a hiatus in 2016 after its 20th anniversary. Previously, the festival featured appearances from bands like Coheed and Cambira, Underoath, and Circa Survive, taking over the Observatory venues in Orange County. However, this year, Jimmy Eat World is heading to Irvine with with Taking Back Sunday. Other performers include Circa Survive, Saves The Day, Anberlin, Glassjaw, Cartel, and Acceptance.

According to a press release, Live Nation is “looking to bring Chain Reaction’s punk personality to a larger stage with the reemergence of Chain Fest.” In 2019, the promoter giant announced a strategic partnership with the venue.

Chain Fest will raise money for the Living The Dream Foundation, a non-profit that helps children and young adults with life-threatening illnesses stay positive and maintain hope in their fight.
