Sam Hunt is planning a big year bolstered by the release of his sophomore record and a massive tour.

The country star revealed that Southside, his anticipated follow-up to 2014’s Montevallo, will be available April 3. His subsequent Southside Summer Tour will launch the following month and run through September.

Hunt will visit more than 40 North American cities on the comeback trek. Major markets on the agenda include Chicago, Tampa, Phoenix, Syracuse and Sacramento, plus opening and closing shows in Charlotte and Albuquerque, respectively. Special guests Kip Moore, Travis Denning and Ernest will join in support.

Hunt quickly became one of Nashville’s most popular performers following the overwhelming success of his debut LP Montevallo. The album topped charts and spawned smash hits like “House Party,” “Leave the Night On,” “Break Up In A Small Town” and “Take Your Time.”

His upcoming project may have been six years in the making, but Hunt has remained a presence on country charts with sporadic single releases, including his Grammy-nominated 2017 crossover “Body Like a Back Road.” He most recently dropped “Kinsfolk,” the lead single off Southside.
