Above Ground 4 benefit concert, presented by Dave Navarro and Billy Morrison, has unveiled its headliners for their 2025 edition.
The concert is scheduled for January 25, at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, California. This year’s lineup features Billy Idol, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, and Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan. Set to join them are Billy Howerdel, Elliot Easton, Jerry Harrison, Josh Freese, Mark McGrath , Steve Stevens, and Tommy Henriksen & Glen Sobel.
This marks the return of Above Ground after a multi-year hiatus, during which Navarro faced a recovery from long COVID. The Jane’s Addiction guitarist, who recently returned to performing earlier this year, shared, “Above Ground 3 [2021] was a great success, but I got really sick with COVID after that show,” he revealed. “And it’s been over two years until I was well enough to get back on stage. And as I continue to heal, we thought this is the time!”
Navarro also emphasized the importance of addressing mental health issues during the holiday season. “We have work to do and we need to remind people, especially through the holidays, that it’s OK to ask for help! I really look forward to getting on stage with my friends and recreating this seminal music while at the same time having some fun and raising money for MusiCares.”
Morrison echoed his sentiments, sharing, “The need to shine a light on mental health doesn’t go away. And I think that Dave and I work so well together on these AG events that it just felt right to come back with the fourth show. We both have our own mental health battles on different levels and if we can help raise some funds and awareness, then we are doing a good thing.”
Tickets are now available for purchase, with proceeds supporting MusiCares through Above Ground, a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention. Additional artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
