Alicia Keys to Receive Dr. Dre Global Impact Award
Alicia Keys, a celebrated 16-time Grammy Award-winner, will be honored with the 2025 Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the upcoming Recording Academy Honors.
Presented by the Black Music Collective the event will take place on Thursday, January 30, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, as part of the Grammy Week festivities.
The Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, introduced in 2023, celebrates artists whose contributions go beyond music, spotlighting their entrepreneurial ventures, philanthropic initiatives, and global influence.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. praised Keys in a statement, noting that, “from her timeless music to her unwavering dedication to uplifting others, Alicia has made an indelible impact on the world.”
“Alicia embodies everything the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award represents – her artistry knows no bounds, her advocacy inspires meaningful change, and her influence has profoundly shaped culture,” Mason continued. “We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary legacy and the transformative contributions she continues to make in music and beyond.”
Keys is currently a Grammy nominee for Best Musical Theater Album for Hell’s Kitchen. The Broadway musical, inspired by her early life and featuring her songs, opened at the Shubert Theatre in New York on April 20 and remains a staple of the theater scene.
Garnering 13 Tony nominations, the production has already claimed two wins: Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for Maleah Joi Moon and Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for Kecia Lewis.
