Seminal songwriter Brian Wilson, best known for his role in the Beach Boys, recently announced plans to extend his North American tour. The new 11-date jaunt begins November 10 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, and concludes November 25 at the Westbury Theatre in Westbury, NY.

The trek is comprised of East Coast and Midwest dates, including a November 16 performance at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL, and a November 21 set at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, NY. Wilson’s summer jaunt across North America, which wrapped with a September 12-14 run at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA, featured mainly West Coast and Canadian dates.

Wilson and his band are touring in support of “That Lucky Old Sun,” the tenth official solo album from the revered singer-songwriter. The September 2 release, which was written in collaboration with Wilson’s “SMiLE” partner Van Dyke Parks, debuted at No. 21 on the Billboard 200.

In a statement on the album’s interactive Web site, Wilson described the release as an “interwoven series of ’rounds’ with interspersed spoken word.”

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

Earlier in the summer, the influential musician performed a July 11 “Stand Up For A Cure” benefit at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, NY. According to published reports, after fans posted complaints about bad visibility and the 75-minute set’s length, Wilson offered a refund to unhappy concert-goers.

In a statement on Wilson’s Web site, his wife Melinda explained that unhappy fans could send ticket stubs to Wilson’s publicist for a reimbursement. “Brian saw the posts and asked me to respond,” she said in the statement. “He’s really sensitive to all of your feelings and doesn’t want to offend anyone.”
