After taking the world by storm, the youngest Jonas brother is striking out on his own — at least for a while. The 17-year-old Nick Jonas has announced plans for a 14-city U.S. tour with his side project, Nick Jonas and The Administration.
The one-month venture will take Jonas and his cohorts through most of the major U.S. markets on a coast-to-coast circuit that begins January 2-3 at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX, and ends January 30 at Zellerbach Auditorioum in Berkeley, CA. Stops include January 7-8 at Beacon Theatre in New York, NY; January 17 at Rosemont Theater in Chicago, IL; and January 26 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA.
Though elder siblings Joe and Kevin are on the sidelines for the time begin, official Jonas Brothers fan club Team Jonas is offering presales for all dates of the tour.
The first presale opened December 1 and sold out in Dallas, Nashville, Washington and New York. Chicago presales also started, but some of those tickets are still listed as being available. All five cities will be the first to begin public sales on December 5.
Remaining presales for the tour will begin on December 8, followed by public onsales in Minneapolis on December 11. Public sales start a day later on December 12 in all other markets.
Nick Jonas and The Administration is touring to promote the record “Who I Am,” which is set for release on February 2. The Administration portion of the lineup is comprised of David Ryan Harris (guitar), Michael Bland (drums) and Tommy Barbarella (keyboards). Producer John Fields covered the bass for the band’s studio sessions, but Sonny Thompson will carry that responsibility on tour.
Though Jonas is best known for his work with sibling trio and international phenomenon Jonas Brothers, he began his musical career as a solo artist. He released the debut album “Nicholas Jonas” in 2004 after spending several years of his childhood on Broadway, including stints as Chip in “Beauty and the Beast” and Gavroche in “Les Miserables.”
