Bad news for Sam Smith fans! The British singer suffered a hemorrhage to his vocal cords while on tour in Australia. In order to avoid any long term damage, doctors have ordered Sam to discontinue performing until he is healed.

All remaining dates on Sam’s Australian tour have been cancelled, including his performance at the upcoming Logie Awards.

This comes as a blow to Sam Smith after his album, In the Lonely Hour, finally reached the No. 1 spot in Australia, a full year after its release. He has not ruled out his scheduled performances in Asia, originally booked to follow his Australian Tour beginning May 7, in Tokyo.

Canceled Australian tour dates:
April 28 — Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
April 30 — Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne
May 1 — AEC Theatre, Adelaide, SA
May 4 — HBF Stadium
