Taylor Swift will join the growing list of recording artists with tours produced by AEG Live. The country starlet will team up with the concert/tour promoter AEG Live and its regional touring division The Messina Group (TMG) for her planned 2009 headlining trek, according to Billboard.biz.

The early 2009 outing will be Swift’s first headlining run, though the opening act has not been announced yet. The up-and-coming singer-songwriter has performed headlining shows before, but all of her previous tours have been opening stints.

Swift is currently opening for the contemporary country trio Rascal Flatts, whose U.S. trek wraps with a November 1-2 run at the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, CT. Rascal Flatts recently announced the Bob That Head Tour will continue in 2009, with Jessica Simpson replacing Swift as the opening act.

Started by Louis Messina in 2001, The Messina Group has offices in Nashville, TN, and Houston, TX. In addition to Swift, the group has also promoted tours and shows for country artists like Kenny Chesney, the Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson, and Tim McGraw.

Swift released her eponymous studio debut in 2006 and quickly achieved commercial success. The teenage phenomenon’s debut single, “Tim McGraw,” peaked on Billboard‘s country charts at No. 6 and on the Hot 100 at No. 40. The album went on to top the country album charts and peaked on the Billboard 200 at No. 5. Swift’s sophomore follow-up, “Fearless,” is scheduled for release on November 11.
