Born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, Kelly Clarkson has made it big as an American pop singer and songwriter. Her fame began in 2002 when she won the first season of the popular television series, “American Idol”. Since then she has released four top albums, “Thankful” (2003), “Breakaway” (2004), “My December” (2007), and her most recent album “All I Ever Wanted” (2009), and has in total sold over 10.2 million copies in the United States alone.
Out of Clarkson’s singles, eight became top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100. In its first week of release, “My Life Would Suck Without You” broke the record for the biggest jump to the top position in chart history, going from number 97 to number 1. Along with singing and songwriting, Kelly Clarkson has done some occasional acting, holding the lead role in the movie “From Justin to Kelly” in 2003 and playing the role of Brenda Lee in the television series American Dreams.

Since claiming the first-ever title of "American Idol" in 2002, Kelly Clarkson has built a strong and varied career for herself in pop music. This fall, the singer and occasional songwriter heads back out on the road for the 32-date All I Ever Wanted Tour.
The autumn outing begins October 2 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, and wraps nine weeks later on December 13 at Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL. Along the way, the singer-songwriter will stop for shows on October 6 at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, NY; October 25 at Fox Theatre in Detroit, MI; November 6 at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV; and December 7 at American Bank Center Arena in Corpus Christi, TX.

Kelly Clarkson can sing, there's no doubt about that. She is a Grammy Award winning vocalist and is remembered as one of the best female singers to have ever appeared on American Idol.
Unfortunately for Clarkson, singing talent is only a small part of the music industry equation. She has recently shown some rebellious nature in her business decisions and many wonder if she has committed career suicide.
Since the release of "December," Clarkson has fired her manager and canceled a scheduled summer because of poor ticket sales. "She's now undermined the pop persona Davis and his team carefully crafted. She may never get it back," writes "Fox 411" entertainment reporter Roger Friedman. . .
Kelly Clarkson Postpones Summer Tour

Billboard reports that LiveNation has postponed Kelly Clarkson's Summer Tour due to lower than expected ticket sales. "We came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew," says LiveNation.
Current ticket-holders will be given first priority for seats once new dates, likely in the fall, are announced. "The fact is that touring is just too much too soon," Clarkson says on her Web site. "But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better." ...
