With the hottest ticket in town tough to come by, ’tis the season for scalpers to take advantage of the Calgary Flames’ playoff run.

But those getting top dollar — often hundreds above face value — are less the target of authorities these days than during the NHL’s regular season, says city bylaw boss, Bill Bruce….

“You don’t want to say it’s a low priority, but with the Red Mile we’ve got all available manpower maintaining public peace, so we don’t have a lot of people to go chase ticket scalping down,” said Bruce, Calgary’s director of animal and bylaw services.

“And if you have to determine if there’s a victim here because nobody’s forcing people to buy the tickets from scalpers.

“If what is offered is what someone wants to pay, then it’s a contract between two people.”….
