Road Grosses
NEW YORK — No potholes this week — the road stayed even for Week 12 (Aug. 13-19). The 14-show slate grossed a total of $14,515,748, down less than half a percentage point (.46%) from Week 11.
The Chicago shows have largely equalized, with the slight dip in the “Wicked” B.O. snapped up by “High School Musical.” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” left Chicago for Milwaukee, Wis., last week and appears to have taken most of its biz with it.
After closing on a $1.3 million week in Washington, D.C., “The Phantom of the Opera” opened strong in Ottawa with C$989,016($933,738).
“High School Musical” boasted the largest sales jump this week — up $50,196 — but the third company tour of “Wicked,” in Los Angeles, continued to climb, closing Week 12 with $1,685,379.
