The Spice Girls, anticipating a huge demand for their upcoming tour, have started to add dates to select North American cities very slowly to the previously limited itinerary. Just added are shows in Boston and Chicago after announcing five shows in the greater New York Metropolitan area, including the new Prudential Center in Newark, NJ as well as the recently renamed IZOD Arena in East Rutherford, NJ, formerly known as Continental Airlines Arena. They are also booked into the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY (Long Island) but not at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.

Since the group announced their reunion tour earlier this year, tickets have been snapped up at a brisk pace, resulting in the original Girl Power gals recently cracking the Top 10 in TicketNews’ exclusive concert rankings.

The quintet (Victoria Beckham, Mel B., Emma Bunton, Melanie C. and Geri Halliwell) will release “Spice Girls: Greatest Hits,” featuring 13 of their best-selling singles, two new songs and three downloadable remixes, exclusively at Victoria’s Secret stores in the U.S. and on the company’s website for a two-month period commencing on Nov. 13.

The album will then be available in regular outlets nationwide Jan. 15, at which time Capitol Music Group will release a deluxe edition including a DVD with all of the Spice Girls’ promotional videos as well as gift-box version with CD, DVD, karaoke disc and bracelet.
