AEG Live has received tentative approval to purchase the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, for $2.8 million.

The 1,356-seat theater is part of promoter Jack Utsick’s properties that went into receivership after a civil action lawsuit was filed against him and two others by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2007. They were accused of making a fraudulent stock offering.

Upcoming shows include Kids in the Hall, Kansas, Steve Tyrell, John Densmore’s Tribal Jazz, Gordon Lighfoot, Boz Scaggs, Kenny G., King Crimson, Keb’Mo, Squeeze and Dave Stewart, among others.

A closing date for the sale, which needs additional court approval, has not been set.
