Stand-up comedian Carlos Mencia, known for his man-on-the-street interviews, studio comedy and commercial parodies, is launching an 80-city stand-up comedy tour in July called “Bud Light Presents Carols Mencia: At Close Range.” The tour begins July 26 at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, and continues through December 13 in Rio Puerco, NM. It is produced by Live Nation Comedy and Icon Entertainment.

As one of the most popular comedians in the country, Mencia offers insightful observations and precise delivery when addressing a variety of subjects, including ethnic stereotypes, racism and people’s inability to laugh at themselves. His 2006 Comedy Central Original Stand-up Special, “Carlos Mencia: No Strings Attached,” was the first Comedy Central Original Stand-up Special DVD to achieve platinum sales status. His new comedy special for Comedy Central, “Carlos Mencia * * Performance Enhanced,” premiered on May 18.

Mencia’s TV show, “Mind of Mencia,” debuted on Comedy Central in early 2005. Since then, it has become one of the strongest shows in the network’s history, averaging about 1.5 million total viewers. A fourth season of the weekly hit will premiere May 21 with 10 all-new episodes, taking on such topics as the election, recession, war and other controversial issues.
