Death Cab For Cutie, whose acclaimed new album “Narrow Stairs” made a stunning debut atop the Billboard 200 chart a few weeks ago, will spend its summer touring North America and beyond, with live dates currently scheduled for this month through a pair of mid-August performances at Japan’s annual Summer Sonic Festival on August 9-10 in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
The new album is the band’s first to debut at #1, with sales of 143,586, marking their highest sales week in the band’s 10-year history. The band’s previous album, “Plans,” was RIAA-certified Platinum.
In addition to headlining dates around the world, the band will also appear at a variety of festivals, including such renowned gatherings as the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 15; the Latitude Festival at Henham Park in Birmingham, England on July 18; the Benicassim Festival in Benicassim, Spain on July 20; and Pemberton Festival in Pemberton, British Columbia on July 27.
