“StubHub Partners With NBA Hall of Famer James Worthy to Offer Fans Unforgettable NBA Finals Experience”
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (StubHub) June 10, 2008 – StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, announced a partnership with NBA Hall of Famer James Worthy and Worthy Partners for a fundraising campaign to benefit Boys and Girls Club of America. Starting last Friday, StubHub has been hosting auctions for a once-in-a-lifetime ticket package for games three and four of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. Each package will include two seats in James Worthy’s center court luxury box, a pre-game dinner for two with James Worthy, access to the exclusive VIP Lounge at STAPLES Center, two autographed #42 James Worthy Lakers jerseys and generous one-on-one time with Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy at the game. The net proceeds of each auction will be donated to the Gaston Boys and Girls Club located in Gastonia, North Carolina, Worthy’s hometown, to promote a more positive environment for kids.
Fans can help support the Boys and Girls Club by bidding on these incredible experiences at www.stubhub.com/worthy. Both auctions began Friday morning; the first ended today at 12 p.m. (Game 3 package) and the second will end at 12 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 (Game 4 package). The bidding will start at $7500 per package. The winner of each package will be notified immediately by a StubHub representative and provided details on delivery. Auction winners must be present at STAPLES Center on each game day to claim their NBA Finals Experience.
