Claiming it has received hundreds of complaints against the company, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) this week issued a warning to fans against purchasing tickets from the Web site TicketsMyWay.com.

Among the complaints fans expressed against the company were that they “received the tickets too late, received tickets for seats that were not valid or weren’t as good as agreed upon and, in some cases, did not receive their tickets at all,” the BBB said in a prepared
statement.

“Sports fans, music lovers and theater buffs may not seem to have a lot in common, but all are complaining to BBB about their dissatisfaction with the TicketsMyWay.com site,” Steve Cox, BBB spokesperson, said in a statement. “There are many reputable online ticket resellers that consumers can safely purchase hard-to-get tickets from, but unfortunately, some consumers have been placing their trust in Web sites such as TicketsMyWay.com and are telling us they are getting ripped off.”

A spokesperson for the company, which is operated by Las Vegas-based Event Tickets LLC, could not be reached for comment, but it touts its customer service on its Web site. The warning is not the first time the BBB has issued such suggestions to fans, in an effort to help them avoid problems.

“It is our mission to provide you with outstanding customer service, the best possible selection of quality seating to all major events and to do so at a very reasonable price,” the company wrote on its Web site. “We are also a comprehensive source for venue seating charts, venue eminities, directions, parking, near by resturaunts, weather and event reviews and ratings. We strive to make the planning of your special event quick and easy. We understand that event planning can sometimes be stressful and think that you have enough to worry about already. Let us bear the burden for you!”

According to the BBB, the company’s track record for responding to complaints is abysmal, leading to an “unsatisfactory” rating from the BBB. On close to 100 occasions, the BBB received complaints of “non-delivery of tickets, nearly another 100 complaints involving refunds and exchanges, and on about 200 occasions, the company has failed to even respond to BBB or consumers to resolve issues.”
