Following her August 23 concert at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN, country singer Wynonna is gearing up for her fall tour of the U.S. The 25-city tour kicks off on September 25 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, TN, and wraps December 21 at the Grand Theater on Artsblock in Wausau, WI.
The coast-to-coast trek includes Wynonna’s second Grand Ole Opry performance of the year on October 4, as well as a November 16 gig at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT. Other highlights include two night stands at Eastman Theatre in Rochester, NY, on November 14-15 and at the Peppermill Wendover Casino concert hall in Wendover, NV, on November 28-29.
This is the country crooner’s first long-term tour engagement since late in 2007, when she performed more than 30 fall shows in a timeframe similar to the upcoming tour. Her last original studio release was 2003’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” which charted three singles on Billboard‘s country charts and one single on contemporary adult charts. Wynonna followed with the two-disc retrospective “Her Story: Scenes from a Lifetime” in 2005, and her first holiday album, “A Classic Christmas,” in 2006.
Wynonna began on her solo career in 1992 with her eponymous multi-platinum record, which peaked at No. 1 on country charts and No. 4 on the Top 200. She originally got her start in country music as one part of the chart-topping duo The Judds, along with mother Naomi Judd.
