TicketNews today released its weekly events rankings for the week ending November 2, and although Wicked is the top selling event (power score 6.53), tickets for the AC/DC tour and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular sold strongly overall last week; they rank at numbers two and three in the Top Combined Events rankings. The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Giants come in at numbers four and five, with the rest of the overall top ten rounded out by theatre and concert events such as Jersey Boys (number six) and the Eagles (number ten).

According to the Top Concert rankings, Madonna still has a popular show, as she comes in at number three in those rankings with a 5.05 power score. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra follows with a 4.31 power score. Tina Turner slips in these rankings, from number three to number eight; her new power score is 3.21. She manages to pull ahead of Neil Diamond (2.42) and Céline Dion (2.38), who last appeared in these rankings two weeks ago.

Given last week’s World Series games, the Phillies sold the most sports tickets last week. NFL tickets continue to sell well and the most popular teams among buyers are the Dallas Cowboys (number three, 2.61), Chicago Bears (number four, 2.52), and the Tennessee Titans (number five, 2.47). With basketball season beginning, two NBA teams make it into these rankings: the Los Angeles Lakers (number six, 2.42) and the New York Knicks (number eight, 2.27).

In the theatre rankings South Pacific is the third most popular show, behind Wicked and Jersey Boys. Cirque du Soleil: Wintuk jumps in the rankings to number four, power score 8.85. Billy Elliot makes the leap from number nine to number six with a power score of 3.11. The Little Mermaid closes out the theater rankings with a 1.74 power score.

It’s still Bette Midler at number one in the Vegas rankings with a power score 42.47. Cirque du Soleil: “O” (17.87) beat out Elton John (11.94) for the number two spot, and Donny & Marie Osmond jump from their previously held number nine position to number six, with a power score of 2.87. Jubilee! (2.08) and Penn & Teller (1.91) rank at numbers eight and nine, ahead of Criss Angel: Believe (1.74).

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™, the world’s largest secondary market exchange. A Power Score illustrates a given event’s category-specific significance. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. As such, power scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category.
