The All-American Rejects are continuing their North American conquest tonight (November 10) with a concert at the Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA. The performance is just the latest stop on the group’s late fall tour, which runs through a December 10-11 set at Slim’s in San Francisco, CA.
The trek began October 23 at Hard Rock Café in Universal City, CA, and has already featured a handful of dates. Highlights for the remaining 12 cities include a November 18 gig at the Fillmore in New York, NY, and a November 30 show at The Loft in Dallas, TX. Two Canadian dates are also on the books for November 13 at La Tulipe in Montreal, QC, and November 15 at The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto, ON.
The band is touring in support of its upcoming third studio album, “When the World Comes Down,” which is due December 16 after about three years of radio silence from the crew.
“I want this record to be more than just good for us, I want it to be good for them, our fans,” explained frontman Tyson Ritter on the band’s Web site, continuing, “In the end, we’re just a band, close friends, who care deeply about what we do…. I’m no rock star or hometown hero. I’m just a nobody.”
Despite this insistence, The All-American Rejects are far from being the losers that their name implies. The album is a follow-up to 2005’s RIAA-certified double Platinum disc “Move Along,” a record that hit No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
The Oklahoma-based band released their eponymous debut in 2003, first gaining radio airplay for their smash hit, “Swing, Swing.” The song was released as a single in 2002 and hit No. 26 on Billboard‘s Modern Rock chart that year, later peaking at No. 8 on the same chart in 2003.
