After weeks of strong showings, TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA finally takes the number one spot in TicketNews’s exclusive venues rankings for the week ending Sunday, February 8. The Garden’s success is largely due to its impressive roster of upcoming shows, including Fleetwood Mac, Britney Spears, and Bruce Springsteen, as well as to the current season of Boston Celtics basketball. The Garden has a power score this week of 3.43.

Hanging on to the number two slot this week is New York’s Madison Square Garden (MSG). Power scoring a 3.03, the home of the New York Knicks also sees Fleetwood Mac in the coming weeks, as well as the ever popular Jimmy Buffett.

The Gershwin Theatre moves up one to land at the number three position this week. The home of the still wildly popular musical Wicked power scores a 2.31 this week. Next on the list at number four is the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. With a power score of 2.20, the Staples Center is home court to the Los Angeles Lakers as well as host to a number of popular tours in the coming weeks, including those of Britney Spears, Fleetwood Mac, and the WWE. Next, the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco moves up one to the number five spot. Providing Broadway-style shows to local audiences, the Theatre has booked performances into the summer for a production of “Wicked.” The Orpheum power scores a 1.99 this week.

Newcomer the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ arrives on the list at number six this week. It seems like all the heavy hitters will be playing the Center in the coming weeks, including Fleetwood Mac, Nickelback, The Dead, Il Divo and of course, native son Bruce Springsteen. The Izod Center debuts with a power score of 1.93. The Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA hits the list at number seven this week. With a power score of 1.92, the Spectrum is scheduled to host top performers like The Dead and Bruce Springsteen this season, and it will also see a stop on the popular Monster Jam Trucks tour.

Up two this week to the number eight position is the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. Power scoring a 1.77, the Center has a full roster of top selling artists arriving in the coming weeks, including Elton John and Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen and Il Divo, on the U.S. leg of their tour.

Two more debuts round out our top ten this week. The Pepsi Center in Denver, CO makes a splash at number nine on strong sales for the upcoming shows of Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and The Dead. The Pepsi Center has a power score of 1.64 this week. In at number ten is the
Verizon Center in Washington, DC, with a power score of 1.34. The Verizon Center also hosts a star-studded line up this season, including shows by Britney Spears, The Dead, Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™, the world’s largest secondary market exchange. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s category-specific significance. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales within the category. As such, power scores should only be used to compare venues within a particular category.
