The New York Giants and New York Jets are scheduled to begin playing in their new, $1.6 billion stadium in the 2010 season, but according to the New York Times both teams are having some difficulty selling tickets. The numbers are not terrible, but both teams are reportely behind by several thousands seats from where they want to be at this time. Both teams charged thousands of dollars for personal seat licenses and are also seeking top dollar for premium tickets, having planned those amounts before the current recession. Or, perhaps, believing that the teams, and the overall NFL, are recession-proof, which is proving not to be the case this season.
