Former MSG Network President Bob Gutkowski has sued George Steinbrenner and the New York Yankees for allegedly stealing his idea for the team’s YES cable television network, according to the New York Times. Gutkowski claims that he met with Steinbrenner several times in the mid- to late-1990s to discuss how the team could create the cable sports channel, and that during that time he was told he would either run the operation or be significantly involved in it. He is seeking damages of at least $23 million.
