It may be a collective bargaining ploy, but National Basketball Association owners are reportedly painting a dire picture of the league’s financial status as it prepares to enter into contract negotiations with the players’ union, according to the New York Daily News. While regular-season ticket sales were strong for the 2008-09 campaign, the playoffs told another story, as the effects of the recession kicked in. Owners are worried that the 2009-10 season could possibly see a drop in attendance.
