Veteran rock band Styx will stay on the road through late 2009 as the group extends this summer’s popular Can’t Stop Rockin’ Tour with REO Speedwagon.

The classic rock crews have booked just about 10 dates together on this latest round of dates, starting with a September 4 concert at the Civic Center Arena in Bismarck, ND, and a September 5 performance at the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul, MN.

15 for $15 with Napster! After Styx completes a series of early fall solo gigs, the on-and-off touring partners will return to the stage for additional dates. The latest itinerary keeps the bands on the road from an October 29 event at North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, SC, through a November 20 show at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR.

In addition to sets from Styx and REO, some special guests will be on the bill for the fall 2009 concerts. Continuing its supporting stint from the summer leg of the Can’t Stop Rockin’ Tour, Southern rock band .38 Special will open both September concerts. Popular ’80s hard rock group Night Ranger will support most of the late fall performances.

Some of Styx’s planned solo concerts are on the books for September 17-18 at Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, ON, and October 9 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Biloxi, MS.

Ticket sales have already started for most of Styx’s upcoming concerts, including those with REO Speedwagon. The two bands launched their latest co-headlining tour of the U.S. in mid-May and performed more than 30 concerts at national stadiums and amphitheaters through July.

Styx and REO have a long history of touring together. The groups both appeared on the bill during a spring 2008 tour with Def Leppard, as well as the Arch Allies Tour in 2000.
