With “Linsanity” in high gear, Madison Square Garden (MSG) easily retained its No. 1 position in TicketNews’ exclusive venues rankings for the week ending Sunday, February 26.

MSG is home to the New York Knicks and has seen rising star Jeremy Lin lead the team to a 9-3 record since being forced into the line-up earlier this month following injuries to players ahead of him on the depth chart. The Knicks resume their season on February 29, when they welcome the Cleveland Cavaliers to MSG.

The Garden is also boosted by revenue from the NHL’s New York Rangers and top selling concerts including Van Halen, arriving this week, and Bruce Springsteen, taking the stage in April.

In at No. 2 was the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, host for this past weekend’s NBA All-Star Weekend. The East-West Conference battle ended with a 152-149 victory for the Western Conference thanks to 36 points from Kevin Durant, the game’s Most Valuable Player.

Sports venues made up the majority of Top 10 entrants this week, with some assistance from Madonna who once again dominated the week’s Top Concert rankings. Some of the other indoor sports venues in the rankings were TD Garden, Staples Center and Wells Fargo Center.

Perhaps the biggest indicator that spring is not too far away was that Fenway Park in Boston, MA, home of baseball’s Boston Red Sox, made its seasonal debut on the list, in at No. 10 this week.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s significance among all other venues listed in the Exchange. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales overall.
