The brand new Revel Ovation Hall made a stellar debut on TicketNews’ exclusive venue rankings, jumping to No. 3 this week. The 5,500 hundred seat amphitheater is located inside Revel, Atlantic City’s newest resort and casino, which opened for an eight-week preview on April 2 before officially opening May 25.

Although the venue will celebrate with an inaugural performance by Grammy Award winning group Maroon 5 on May 18, the amphitheater likely grabbed the spot thanks to tickets for Beyoncé’s three concerts going on sale Friday, April 6. She will be performing during the resorts premiere weekend May 25-28. These exclusive performances will mark the singers return to stage for the first time since the summer of 2011.

Other groups scheduled to appear at the amphitheater include The Black Keys who perform on May 19, Kid Rock on June 2, and Sugarland who take the stage on June 15.

Sliding back into the No. 1 this week after a two-week hiatus from top spot is Madison Square Garden. The Garden got a boost from tickets for the boy band One Direction going on sale Friday, April 6. The popular group, who performs at MSG on December 3, sold out the arena within moments.

Also contributing to MSG’s position in the rankings are sales for the Rangers’ NHL Eastern Quarterfinals and the Knicks’ NBA Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, both beginning in April. Other arenas getting a boost from NHL and NBA postseasons include the American Airlines Arena who grabbed the No. 4 spot this week, the Staples Center in Los Angeles at No. 9 and TD Garden in Boston, which dropped down to No. 6 from the No. 3 spot it held in last week’s rankings.

Although the Major League Baseball season opened on April 4 last week, the only baseball stadium making into the Top 10 was Yankee Stadium in the Bronx at No. 6. In the coming weeks as the weather continues to improve and the season kicks into high gear with more teams celebrating their opening days, baseball stadiums could see an increase in ticket sales.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s significance among all other venues listed in the Exchange. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales overall.
