Fun. will kick off 2013 with a short U.S. tour including stops at eleven venues between late January and most of February. Based on their most recent tour, the group will hit the stage with high energy and fun for everyone in attendance.

The tour is scheduled to begin on January 23 in Saint Paul, Minnesota at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Stops along we way include: DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on January 31; The Orpheum in Boston, Massachusetts on February 1; The Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington on February 5; and the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas on February 13. The tour will wrap up on February 16 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Fun. is a three-member group, consisting of Nate Ruess on lead vocals, Andrew Dost on piano and Jack Antonoff on guitar and drums. While considered an Indie pop, alternative rock band, the groups label Fueled By Ramen refers to them on their official website, as, “less of a band, and more of an amusement park.”

Their bio reads, “The musical tracks harden into wooden rollercoaster tracks. You get on the car, and with a jerk, it starts to move. There’s that familiar feeling that tells you something pretty transformative is about to happen. Lights flash as you go plummeting into the darkness. The rollercoaster version of Some Nights follows the same path as the album version: colorful on the outside, deeper than you had imagined in the center, and so good it’ll make your head spin.”

Recently, Fun. returned to the United States after a headlining tour across Europe. On October 31, the band is playing a Halloween show in Portland, Maine and immediately following will hit the road for the REVERB Campus Consciousness Tour. The entire tour is sold out, and will be visiting multiple college campuses across the United States.

One thing is for sure, Fun. loves the road and doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon. On November 3, you can catch the group making an appearance on Saturday Night Live. In addition, the group has also recently announced a block of European tour dates for later next year.

In 2012, Fun. made a name for themselves in the music industry with their hit single, “We Are Young.” The track featured Janelle Monae, and quickly rose to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and made history, capturing seven straight weeks of sales above 300,000 per week. According to mxdwn.com Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love The Way You Lie” which held five straight weeks with above 300,000 sales per week held the previous record.

Tickets for the 2013 tour are currently on-sale to the general public. The group announced that $1 of each ticket will be donated to benefit The Ally Coalition Fund, a non-profit group raising awareness and funds for LGBTQ equality. Tickets for the shows in New York, New York show at Radio City Music Hall on February 2, and Atlanta, Georgia at The Tabernacle on February 15 have already sold out.
