After starting out the season unranked the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program went undefeated during the regular season and now sits atop the BCS standings. With the storied program having a chance at ending its 24-year national championship drought it comes as no surprise that the BCS National Championship Game tickets debuted on the rankings list this week (14th position). The game will be held on January 7 at Sun Life Stadium. While the Irish’s opponent has not been determined ticket prices have already begun to rise due to the demand from Notre Dame fans.
TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Event Power Scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category, and not across categories.
