On Tuesday, April 30th, Ticketmaster filed a lawsuit at the United States district court in Los Angeles against Joseph Shalom and twenty of his associates for using specialized computer programs to circumvent online security systems and gain access to as many as 200,000 tickets before the public. The suit claims that Shalom and others violated Ticketmaster’s terms and policies which prohibit the use of such computer programs to purchase tickets and also limit the amount of tickets that a customer may purchase in a single day. Ticketmaster did not say how many tickets were bought by the twenty one people addressed in the suit but are seeking unspecified damages for the harm they caused to Ticketmaster’s reputation.
