Mexico and Croatia faced off on in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, and that international friendly (soccer, for those unsure)captured the the No. 1 spot on yesterday’s best-selling events list, surpassing the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, according to sales data from Ticket Club.
Given the proximity of Arlington to Mexico (rather than Croatia), we suspect the crowd may have been let down by the fact that Croatia took a 1-0 win by way of a successful penalty in the second half. This is the second of two friendlies for both teams during the international break. Today, Antigua and Barbuda will take on Dominica, and on April 1, Germany will face Austria. Games continue through the rest of the year.
Other top-selling sports events include the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the National Semifinals game this Saturday: Michigan v. Loyola Chicago and Villanova v. Kansas. The two winners of Saturday’s game will play in the championship on Monday. Baseball tickets also made multiple appearances, since the season starts tomorrow, along with tickets to the 2018 Masters Golf Tournament and US Open Tennis Championship game.
Miranda Lambert & Little Big Town were among the day’s hottest tickets as more dates were added to their summer tour, along with Justin Timberlake, who is currently on his world tour. Hamilton and Springsteen on Broadway also made appearances on the best-sellers.
