This year’s Audiotree Music Festival, held in Kalamazoo, Michigan at Arcadia Creek Festival Place, will feature headlining indie artists Father John Misty and Local Natives.
The festival is set to take place from September 22 – 23 and will feature an eclectic group of indie, folk, and funk artists including Khruangbin, Real Estate, Chicano Batman, Blitzen Trapper, Basement, and Diet Cig. Additionally, Post Animal, Palm, Caamp, The Regrettes, NE-HI, Melkbelly, Major Murphy, Common Holly, Stuyedeyed, and Flaural will take the stage.
Since Audiotree’s debut in 2011, the company has expanded to live concert booking, promoting, and streaming. Now in its sixth consecutive year, the festival will include craft beer options, food trucks, and specialty vendors. This year will feature The Discovery Stage, which will host 12 more bands including local artists and Audiotree Alumni with the help of Western Michigan University’s college radio station, WIDR.
Headliners Local Natives released Sunlit Youth in 2016, followed by singles “The Only Heirs” and “I Saw You Close Your Eyes” last year. They are best-kjnown for their 2010 single “Wide Eyes” off their debut LP. Father John Misty just released the record God’s Favorite Customer, which was named ‘Best New Music’ by Pitchfork. The record follows 2016’s Pure Comedy and the smash single “Real Love Baby.”
