A Prince tribute tour, dubbed “4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince” will kick-off next month with the help of a 27-piece orchestra.

Ahmir Khalib Thompson, known as Questlove from the band The Roots, curated the tour. He worked with Prince collaborator Brent Fischer on the tour’s arrangements and received contributions from Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. After Prince’s estate approved the tour, the 36-date trek was announced.

“Questlove is one of the most innovative artists of today,” Fischer said of the duo’s collaboration. “Between his encyclopedic knowledge of and my history with Prince, we see eye-to-eye on so many creative levels and have a deep respect for preserving Prince’s amazing output.”

Starting in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the tour will kick-off on September 6. It will make stops across the country in cities like Raleigh, Brooklyn, Cincinnati, Chicago, Tampa, Dallas, and Houston before wrapping-up in Kansas City, Missouri on October 21. The orchestra will perform Prince’s most iconic songs alongside a full band and guest vocalists.

During the tour, Warner Bros. Records is set to release a collection of unheard Prince demos on a 9-track LP titled Piano & Microphone 1983. These tracks are from a “private rehearsal” before the singer hit international stardom.
