The metalcore group We Came As Romans have announced a memorial concert in honor of their late singer Kyle Pavone.

Pavone, the lead vocalist of the group, died at 28-years-old this past August from an accidental overdose. In honor of their bandmate, WCAR started the Kyle Pavone Foundation in hopes to inspire others battling substance addictions.

The band said they will hold a public event to “celebrate Kyle’s life again.” On October 28, the concert will take place at the Fillmore Detroit in the band’s hometown.

Over the weekend, WCAR played their first show without Pavone at the Fillmore while opening for Bullet for My Valentine. During their set, they announced a fundraiser for the Kyle Pavone Foundation, entitled Promise Me Tribute. Frontman Dave Stephens said that the upcoming memorial show will feature guest vocalists, guest musicians, and a ton of DJs.

“It’s just gonna be a big party celebrating all the awesome things Kyle did in his life,” Stephens said.

According to Billboard, Pavone’s family was in attendance at the show. During their time onstage, a banner reading “Kyle Pavone 1990-2018” was draped across a table at the back of the stage, and fans chanted the late singer’s name throughout the night.

“The only reason we’re still doing this is we want to honor Kyle’s legacy, want to honor his memory, we want to keep playing these songs,” Stephen said before closing their set. “This was his dream. Being on this stage was his favorite place to be — but not just any stage, this stage in Detroit.”

Currently, WCAR will continue their tour with Bullet for My Valentine through October 16. Check out their upcoming tour dates below, including the memorial show.
