The rockers of Good Charlotte have cancelled their remaining summer tour dates due to some personal issues.
“This has been one of the most challenging years for our band, as we’ve been dealing with very personal and unexpected loss in our family,” the band said in a statement released on social media this morning. “We have to take time to focus on our families and our well being. Thank you for the love and support you’ve given us, we hope you know the genuine appreciation we have for you all. We hope to see you all very soon.”
The group was slated to make stops at a variety of festivals throughout August, including Tsunami Xixon in Spain, France’s Au Pont Du Rock, Germany’s Rocco Del Shlacko, Taubertal Festival, and Open Flair Festival, Frequency Festival in Austria, and Belgium’s Pukkelpop.
Additionally, Good Charlotte was set to headline the Vans Warped Tour 25th Anniversary show in Mountain View, California next weekend, following their performance at the anniversary show in Atlantic City last month. While Warped Tour organizers could not exactly replace the band, they have added additional acts to the lineup including Dollskill, The Aqua Dolls, Lighter Burns, and Farewell Winters.
Good Charlotte had been touring in support of their latest record, 2018’s Generation Rx. The LP, which followed 2016’s Youth Authority, included singles “Actual Pain” and “Shadowboxer.” They are best-known for early 2000’s hits like “The Anthem,” “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous,” “I Don’t Wanna Be In Love (Dance Floor Anthem),” and “Girls & Boys.”
