With baseball attendance declining, the Oakland Athletics are looking for a way to get younger fans to the stadium. Throughout September, anyone under age 12 can get into the Oakland Coliseum for free.

This offer is extended to kids 12-years-old and younger with the purchase of one regularly priced adult ticket in the Field Level and Plaza Level of the Coliseum. For each ticket purchased, adults can add up to two additional free tickets for kids during the month.

In an attempt to bring a family-friendly vibe to the stadium, kids can visit the Stomping Ground on Plaza Level, which includes playgrounds, a wiffle ball field, and batting cages. Additionally, kids are allowed to run the bases following every Sunday game, which includes home games on September 8 and 22. This month, the A’s will take on the Los Angeles Angels, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, and Texas Rangers at home.

The A’s aren’t the first team to extend this offer; the Baltimore Orioles extended free tickets to kids 9-years-old and younger at Camden Yards in 2018. We’ll see if other teams in the league follow suit.
