Phish has announced a special concert this December at Philadelphia’s historic The Met.
The invitation-only performance will take place at the 3,500-capacity venue on December 3. Phish recently fired up their own satellite channel, and Phish bassist Mike Gordon noted “what better way to celebrate Phish Radio than putting on a live show?”
“After launching Phish Radio earlier this year, we knew we had to deliver something extra special to devoted listeners of their SiriusXM channel,” Senior Vice President and General Manager for Music Programming at SiriusXM said in a statement. “We’re thrilled this exclusivities performance will bring the Phish community even closer to their beloved band.”
SiriusXM subscribers have the chance to win their ticket to the show by tuning into the station. Phish Radio (Channel 29) will give away pairs of tickets each week leading up to the show. Tickets will also be given away online; fans can enter to win here. Additional ways to score tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.
This is SirusXM’s latest exclusive show; earlier this year, Lady Gaga played a SiriusXM invite-only gig at New York City’s iconic Apollo Theatre, followed by the Jonas Brothers’ gig at New York City’s recently renovated Webster Hall and Dave Matthews Band’s intimate show in Los Angeles. Phish’s upcoming show is amid their Fall Tour 2019, which kicks-off late November with a dual gig in Providence, followed by a gig in Uniondale, New York on December 1. Following the Philadelphia gig, they’ll head to Pittsburgh and wrap-up the tour in North Charleston, South Carolina for three shows from December 6-8.
