The Los Angeles Lakers and Delta Air Lines extended their partnership this week, allowing the airline to remain the exclusive airline partner, while also debuting their ticket exchange service.

The pair announced the extension of the partnership Wednesday, and to celebrate, they launched the “Showtime Seat Exchange,” which allows season ticket holders to receive an airline ticket in exchange for tickets to one of four games at the Lakers’ stadium. Fans are able to gift tickets to games like the November 15 match against the Sacramento Kings, the outing on December 22 against the Denver Nuggets, January 31st’s match with the Portland Trail Blazers, or the game on March 15 between the Nuggets. Then, after the exchange program reaches 50 tickets, it will close.

Ticketholders will receive domestic, roundtrip Delta vouchers, which must be used within a year of issuing the tickets, to compensate for their donation. Local charities like After-School All-Stars, Bob Hope USO, Junior Achievement of Southern California, and KIPP LA public schools will receive the tickets.

“The launch of ‘Showtime Seat Exchange’ allows our organizations to make a strong, aligned impact, connecting out community and customers through this unique program,” Delta’s Vice President of Los Angeles and West Sales Scott Santoro said in a statement.

The Lakers President of Business Operations, Tim Harris, said that the team is “incredibly proud” to partner with Delta for the exchange.

“For almost a decade, Delta has worked together with the team to create unique and innovative programs that give back, and this initiative is yet another example of their continued commitment to Lakers fans and the community.”

The exchange service is open for the first game on November 15 game, which will be donated to the After-School All-Stars organization. The service will close on November 5 or when 50 tickets have been donated. Visit Lakers.com/showtimeseatexchange for more information.
