The production recently announced additional cast members, including Justin Cunningham in the role of Juan de Marcos. Joining him in the ensemble are Andrew Montgomery Coleman, Carlos Gonzalez, Anthony Santos, Martín Solá, and Tanairi Sade Vazquez. The performers will join a previously revealed cast that includes Isa Antonetti, Renesito Avich, Natalie Venetia Belcon, and Julio Monge, among others.

The musical features a book by Marco Ramirez and incorporates songs from the Buena Vista Social Club album released in 1997.

Leguizamo described the musical as a groundbreaking celebration of Latin culture.

“This is the show I’ve been waiting for my whole life,” he said. “It features the genesis of all Latin music. The birth of the music and the conflicts it arose from. What an honor and pleasure to be a part of this magical work.”
