Beckham Still InjuredTicketNews.com

Soccer star David Beckham will be attending Sunday’s Toronto FC/Los Angeles Galaxy game in Canada, but he is not expecting to play as he continues to recover from the left ankle injury that limited him to about 15 minutes of play in a recent exhibition match.

Galaxy coach Frank Yallon remarked. “It’d be tough to put him into the lineup with what he’s been doing. He may have some part in the game, but we’ll see.”

Beckham’s ankle was injured on June 6, in the European Championship Qualifier while he was still playing for Real Madrid, and the condition was exacerbated later in the month. Beckham’s coach prefers further rehabilitation before bringing him back into full play. . .

“He’s just starting to do his running,” Yallop said. “I saw him running and he wasn’t limping. He just wants to get rid of that real sharp pain, and he wouldn’t be running on it if it was hurting that badly.”

The injury has helped temper the hype surrounding Beckham’s arrival in the U.S. with his recording artist wife Victoria Adams and their three children. Over the course of his storied career, Beckham has become a worldwide style and sports icon, and he is linked to several endorsement contracts, including one for which he was recently paid $13.7 million dollars to help launch a new fragrance line.
