The Celtic phenomenon will stretch into the New Year as the vocal group Celtic Woman continues touring across North America.

The group has announced its plans for the nearly 60-city Songs from the Heart 2010 Tour, which will launch with a February 9-11 stand at the Civic Center in Roanoke, VA. The early-year trek will span a total of three months before wrapping up on May 22 at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City, UT.

Celtic Woman’s 2010 itinerary features a total of 75 performances in the United States and Canada, including several two- or three-night runs. These planned extended stays include February 26-27 at Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY; March 12-14 at Citi Performing Arts Center in Boston, MA; April 26-27 at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis, TN; and May 11-13 at Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA.

Public onsale dates for the tour have not yet been announced. However, all the upcoming shows are linked to local PBS television stations. According to Celtic Woman’s official Web site, individuals who make pledges to the tour-affiliated stations will “be the first to access tickets…before they go on sale to the public.”

Celtic Woman recently completed its fall 2009 Isle of Hope Tour. Following the tour’s conclusion, the quintet debuted a new television special “Songs from the Heart,” which PBS is broadcasting across the nation.

The upcoming tour may be well-timed to play off an increase in interest following the PBS broadcasts. Celtic Woman and other Celtic-influenced groups have followed a similar television and touring schedule previously with strong results. This past year, Celtic Woman’s broadcasts and albums propelled the singers through a schedule of more than 130 concerts.
