Headquartered in San Francisco, Vendini is the fastest growing cloud-based ticketing company in the industry. It has recently developed mobile ticketing options that help simplify the buying process while cutting costs for entertainment venues.

Vendini, which also has satellite offices in Beverly Hills, Chicago and Boston, provides ticketing, marketing and fundraising solutions to organizations of every size. All customers that sign up with Vendini are given access to every tool and feature the company offers at a single price point.

The ticketing company’s cloud-based system allows users to access their data and applications from anywhere with Internet access and does not require any installation, streamlining the process for the venue and the ticket buyer. A number of clients have signed up with Vendini specifically to invest in these mobile ticketing options.

In today’s ever changing market, more venues are turning to mobile ticketing as a way to streamline the purchasing process for buyers. Working with Vendini allows venues to use mobile applications as an easy and effective way to reach more of their target audience.

October of 2011 was a big month for Vendini as the company released the newest version of their most popular app, Vendini Mobile. Perhaps the most important feature in the new version of Vendini Mobile was the ability for venues to scan tickets using an iPhone camera, a feature that allows concert goers the flexibility of no longer needing a paper version of their ticket. This feature also can help guests who forgot or lost their ticket, which in turn allows the venues to offer customers a superior customer service experience. Not to mention that overall the updated Vendini Mobile app continues to help venues work quickly and efficiently.

The company recently debuted a new application for Android and improved its applications for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, which includes the TicketAgent application that ultimately turns the iPad into a mobile box office, giving ticketing companies the ability to sell tickets and take donations from anywhere.

Beyond the mobile apps, Vendini also developed a program that allows venues to create a QR code that consumers can scan from an advertisement or website to purchase a ticket. This feature continues to simplify the purchasing process for the consumer and decreases paper ticketing costs for the venue.

Vendini mostly serves performing arts centers, but has worked to expand into concert, collegiate, and other sporting venues. Last year proved to be a successful year for the company as they acquired 402 new venues and more specifically 16 concert venues in the fourth quarter alone.

“We hear from a number of our customers that they greatly value our system’s unmatched marketing and reporting capabilities that enable them to communicate easily with their patrons and measure effectiveness,” says Mark Tacchi, founder and CEO of Vendini. “With the Vendini cloud based system, customers can see exactly how much additional revenue they are generating from marketing emails, Facebook posts and Twitter tweets.”

Vendini will lend their mobile ticketing services for the PGA TOUR’s 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am to benefit the Monterey Peninsula Foundation (MPF) taking place February 6-12.

“We’ve used their solutions for three years and Vendini has been instrumental in our event success with more convenient ticketing for patrons, shorter lines and easy to use technology,” said Cindy Minor, Tournament Ticket Manager for the MPF in a December 6 press release on Vendini’s website. The MPF has also used the company’s social media and email marketing solutions.

Tacchi, the founder of Vendini, has always had a passion for the arts and experience in technology. After working with Steve Jobs at both NeXT and then Apple, Tacchi founded his own software company, Hipbone. Tacchi later sold Hipbone to Kana, a Customer Relationship Management company.

“I got into the ticketing business because I saw opportunity, but also because I wanted to give something back to the community,” explains Tacchi in his biography on Vendini’s website. “It’s my contribution. I can’t act, sing, or dance, but I can create awesome applications for the arts that you don’t have to be a genius to use.”

Partnerships with related companies such as Authorize.net, Paypal, Bank of America and Connecticut-based HigherOne help Vendini keep costs low for their clients.

While Vendini has already gained attention in the industry with their unique applications, they’re hoping the new product announcement they make later this year will help attract even more potential customers. Tacchi is already predicting that Vendini’s new product will impact the entire ticketing industry.

“We have a team of our best developers working on a top secret mobile project that will change entertainment ticketing as we know it,” said Tacchi, in a recent email to TicketNews. “This will be an industry game changer for the ticket buying public.”
