This summer will see pop-punk act Paramore back on the road as a headliner on this year’s Honda Civic Tour. The tour’s ninth year will also feature support from sister duo Tegan and Sara as it makes its way across the United States.
The touring festival’s 29-date summer calendar opens with a July 23 performance at Raleigh Boutique Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC. The 2010 jaunt closes, appropriately enough, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, on September 19.
Stops along the way include a July 28 concert at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA; August 14 at Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee, WI; August 18 at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, IL; September 1 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA; and September 13 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.
Initial presales for the recently unveiled tour will begin tomorrow, March 23, for individuals who registered for a unique sale code through the official tour Web site.
Public onsales will also start this week for a select number of dates on the summer calendar. Tickets will become available to the general public on March 27 in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Nashville, Orlando and Anaheim, according to current listings on Ticketmaster.com
“We are so excited to be headlining the Honda Civic Tour and to hit all these great cities and see our fans across the country,” Paramore’s leading lady Hayley Williams said in a statement. “We have a killer lineup and can’t wait until July!”
This summer’s event signals the return of the Honda Civic Tour, which took a year off in 2009. Early reports had named All-American Rejects and Jack’s Mannequin as co-headliners, but Honda later announced in January 2009 that the tour was taking a year off due to a weakened economy.
Paramore’s headlining stint with the tour comes after a year of heavy promotion in 2009. The band supported No Doubt’s reunion tour through spring and summer, later launching its own fall 2009 headline tour in support of the September 2009 album “Brand New Eyes.”
