Classic rock icon Roger Waters has yet again expanded the scope of his North American tour of “The Wall Live” with four more concerts on the books for fall. A press statement from tour producer Live Nation credited the latest extension to “overwhelming demand for tickets,” also adding these are the “final four” shows to be added in North America.

The addition of a September 24 show will now hold Waters in the Windy City of Chicago through four performances at the United Center. His run at Boston’s TD Garden has been pushed out to three nights with a lately unveiled October 3 concert.

Waters will also hunker down on the West Coast for a couple more shows in and around Los Angeles. After a November 29-30 stand at the city’s Staples Center, Waters will return for a December 5 show in the market. But before his triumphant LA return, he’ll be playing in a market new to the tour — Oakland, where he’s now inked for a single December 3 gig at Oracle Arena.

Ticket presales begin June 14 for the new Boston and California shows, while presales follow on June 21 in Chicago. Public onsales are lined up for June 19 in Boston, June 21 in Oakland and Los Angeles, and June 28 in Chicago.

When it comes to Waters’ previously announced tour dates, the lowest price tiers — with face values around $55 and $75 — are mostly sold out. But according to current listings on Ticketmaster.com, the higher price levels — set at $125 and $250 — do not appear to be moving as fast.

As of June 10, Ticketmaster is still showing eight-packs of floor tickets available for each of the previously announced shows in Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles. While Waters’ fan club presales limited orders to two tickets, his public onsales have allowed orders of up to eight tickets.

Despite slow sales for his highest priced tickets, Waters’ tour has generated impressive levels of interest among ticket buyers. When the first ticket sales began, Waters topped TicketNews’ exclusive event rankings for two consecutive weeks — the week ending May 9 and the week ending May 16.

In addition to his plans to stage “The Wall” once more in North America, Waters will also take the tour across Europe in spring 2011. Since announcing the overseas plans were first announced at the end of May, the international itinerary has expanded from 28 dates to 34 dates.

Details about the North American and European tours, including access to all ticket presales, are available on Waters’ official Web site.
