Though just a couple dates are left on her fall 2010 calendar, singer Sarah McLachlan has rolled out new plans for a two-legged extension for her Sarah & Friends Tour in 2011.

The new round of North American concerts kicks off with a New Year’s Eve event at Caesars Circus Maximus Theatre in Atlantic City, NJ, and continues with a New Year’s Day show at MGM Grand in Mashantucket, CT. Featuring a mix of U.S. and Canadian cities, the 11-date leg is booked through a January 12 performance at Beacon Theatre in New York, NY.

A second leg of strictly Canadian-market performances is inked from March 1 at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC, through March 24 at St. Denis Theatre in Montreal, QC. That round of McLachlan’s itinerary holds another dozen dates and will visit eight of the provinces.

Highlights of the musician’s double-pronged plans include shows on January 7 at The Colosseum in Windsor, ON; January 11 at The Opera House in Boston, MA; March 4 at the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, AB; and March 17 at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON.

Ticket sales started last month for McLachlan’s two New Year’s concerts. Public onsales for the remaining 2011 dates vary. Ticket prices also vary widely depending on the market — with Boston seats set from $39.50 up to $72.50, but Windsor passes marked within the range of CA $62.15 to CA $107.35. More details will be released on the singer’s official Web site.

McLachlan has just two concerts remaining on the fall 2010 leg of the Sarah & Friends Tour: November 9 at Palace Theatre in Columbus, OH, and November 10 at Taft Theatre in Cincinnati, OH.

Earlier this year, McLachlan relaunched Lilith Fair, the female-driven touring festival which she co-founded to wide acclaim and success in the mid-1990s. Though soft ticket sales led to mass cancellations and some controversy about criticism of Lilith, McLachlan has commented that the Fair will likely return for several seasons to come.

“We’re planning on doing [Lilith Fair] next year, talking about a five-year plan,” McLachlan said in a published statement, adding, “We’re sort of trying to figure out what all the possibilities are this year. We came out loud and proud with a huge roster, with a lot of great artists and a lot of diversity. And came into a tricky time in touring.”
