Billy Corgan will showcase the latest incarnation of his ’90s alt-rock band Smashing Pumpkins on a 14-date, three-week tour of the United States next month.

The mid-summer outing launches July 6 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH, and snakes its way through Central U.S. and East Coast clubs through the end of the month. The national tour is presently slated to close July 24 at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN.

The “intimate U.S. tour,” as it has been described on the band’s official Web site, features events on July 9 at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH; July 13 at The National in Richmond, VA; and July 20 at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The new Pumpkins lineup — consisting of drummer Mike Byrne, bassist Nicole Fioentino, and guitarist Jeff Schroeder — will also grace the stage of at least one U.S. music festival. The Corgan-fronted quartet was earlier announced as the July 10 headliner of this year’s Forecastle Festival, which runs July 9-11 out of Waterfront Park in Louisville, KY.

Ticket onsale dates and prices have not been announced yet. The Pumpkins hope to take their show to South America and Australia, with a possible return to the states by year-end, according to their Web site.

Smashing Pumpkins’ 2010 touring supports the band’s current musical project, “Teargarden by Kaleidyscope.” Though drawing on this new material, the setlist will feature a mix of classic Pumpkins songs and rarities, as well.

Unlike his previous Pumpkins projects, Corgan is releasing the 44-song “Teargarden” effort one song at a time, with the individual releases then compiled into four-song EPs. The first EP in the series, “Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, Vol. 1: Songs for a Sailor,” dropped May 25. According to Corgan, once all 11 EPs are released, they will be re-packaged as a box set.

Corgan last toured with the Pumpkins in 2008 as part of the band’s 20th Anniversary Tour. The touring lineup at that time consisted of Schroeder, original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, bassist Ginger Pooley and keyboardist Lisa Harriton.
