Getting their jump-start and primary audience from children’s television network the Disney Channel, sibling pop trio Jonas Brothers shot to stardom among its adolescent fan base in 2005, and emerged into the mainstream over the following years with its annual studio releases, beginning with the 2006 debut “It’s About Time.”
As the popularity of brothers Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas grew, so did demand for tickets to their live performances. By early 2008, live entertainment company Live Nation signed the trio into a long-term, multi-million dollar touring deal.
Under the terms of the contract, Jonas Brothers launched a headlining tour during summer 2008 that was a hot ticket for its young female fans and helped position the band near the top of TicketNews’s exclusive weekly event rankings on a regular basis. A similar craze for Jonas Brothers tickets took hold when the band announced a worldwide tour for 2009, causing the band’s fan site to crash during presales.
