With just about a year of official band activity under their belts, prolific musician Jack White and his creative partners in The Dead Weather are heading back out on the road. The rock collective’s 13-date spring tour will travel from coast to coast from April 15 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA, through May 2 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, LA.

With its ranks filled out by Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (The Greenhornes and The Raconteurs), the still-budding supergroup has one additional festival gig lined up in addition to its tour-closing stint at Jazz Fest 2010. The Dead Weather is also pegged to play on April 17, the second day of Coachella 2010 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.

If the planned festival sets aren’t enough for fans, The Dead Weather is also slated for an April 23 appearance with the Flaming Lips at Capital Federal Park in Bonner Springs, KS. Other highlights on the calendar include shows on April 20 at Sunshine Theater in Albuquerque, NM, and April 30 at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX.

The band’s latest round of spring tour dates comes just months after its inaugural North American tour. That trek kicked off in early summer 2009 and included more than 20 events across the U.S. and Canada, including an October 4 set at the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, TX.

While White and his Dead Weather compadres only released their debut “Horehound” in July 2009, concert-goers can still expect to hear a full slate of new material on the upcoming outing. According to White, another full record is waiting in the wings for this year.

A title and release date for the group’s sophomore effort are yet to be announced, but White told Rolling Stone that the new songs will be ready in time for a March tour of Australia.

“We have a lot of songs cooking right now, we’ve been playing a few of them live and I’m sure by March the entire 20 or 25 songs will be onstage,” White said in the late 2009 interview. “We can’t tell you that much about it except that it’s gonna be really expansive, and I use that word loosely in a scientific sense, meaning that I’m just using it to distract you.”
