R&B superstar Usher has had a blow-out year, thanks in large part to the ubiquitous single “OMG” off the chart-topping March release “Raymond vs. Raymond.” Now the popular crooner hopes to replicate that success on the road with his new, aptly titled OMG Tour.
During the 25-city run, Usher will stage shows at arenas across the United States and Canada. The late-year trek kicks off November 10 at KeyArena in Seattle, WA, and concludes December 18 at XL Center in Hartford, CT. A venue announcement is still forthcoming for the singer’s December 2 event in Detroit, MI.
Other stateside stops include November 18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA; November 24 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX; December 5 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA; and December 13 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. North of the border, dates are set for November 29 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON, and November 30 at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC.
Public onsales begin September 18, preceded by a round of Internet presales on September 17. Ticket prices start on the low end around $25 in select tour markets and extend up to $125, according to the few events listed on Ticketmaster.com.
Tour promoter AEG Live has not yet revealed pricing details for the remainder of the itinerary. Additional tour details will be released, as available, on Usher’s official Web site.
The late-year tour is the first major arena outing for Usher since he launched his Truth Tour in 2004. On that trek, Usher visited arenas across the nation while promoting his hit album “Confessions.”
Most recently, though, the crooner has launched only the small scale One Night Stand Tour. The late 2008 venture was promoted as “ladies only” and routed through “intimate” venues for 15 shows.
